Individual Psychotherapy

I provide depth-oriented psychotherapy.  This means I work with individuals to help them understand their "unconscious" (automatic) thoughts, drives and beliefs, in order to create lasting change in relational and behavioral patterns.  While I work with a wide range of concerns, particular areas of focus include:

  • Self-doubt

  • Uncertainty

  • Feelings of emptiness

  • Anxiety and fears

  • Relationship/intimacy concerns

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma

  • Anger

I most often use methods that are based upon psychodynamic, relational and existential therapies.  I also frequently draw from feminist and multi-cultural approaches, and utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques when helpful.  You can find more information about my approach here.
